NORMAN — Baker Mayfield's impact on the Oklahoma football team this season has been obvious. His fearless, no-holds-barred playing style and energetic, fun personality have been contagious, and have helped make the Sooners Big 12 champions and national title contenders.
And maybe it couldn't have happened without last season, when Mayfield couldn't play.
“I don't think I can even put a word or a number to how much it's fueled me,” Mayfield said Monday. “I sat out and watched enough football last year to make me as hungry as I wanna be for the rest of my life.
