The first day defensive end Charles Tapper was on campus in Norman, then Oklahoma assistant Bobby Jack Wright had to have a talk with Tapper, who arrived wearing a state championship jacket from high school basketball.
The school colors of Tapper’s Baltimore City College High?
Orange and black.
“No. Take it off,” Wright told Tapper. “Take that off, send it back home and frame it up. But don’t you ever bring it back here.
“Two things you never do. You never wear orange. And you never respect Texas.”
“Ever since then, that’s the game I look forward to on my schedule,” Tapper said this week as the Sooners prepare to face Texas.
