After losing to Arkansas in its opening game of the PK80 Invitational, Lon Kruger’s Sooners rebounded with back-to-back wins and a fifth-place finish in the eight-team Victory bracket.
OU five-star freshman Trae Young took over the game in the second half, dropping 43 points on the Ducks, 30 of which came after halftime, in leading the Sooners to their fourth win in five games to open the 2017-18 campaign.
Young has upped his points total in every one of the Sooners first five games, scoring 28, 33 and 43 points, respectively, in the three-day, 16-team PK80 tournament, held in Portland, Oregon, in celebration of Nike co-founder Phil Knight’s 80th birthday.
