The Sooners, owners of a 4-9 Big 12 record, remain on the NCAA bubble. And we all wonder how. How could a team that has struggled this much in conference play be a candidate for the NCAA Tournament?
OU played a strong non-conference schedule, but still. Seems wacky that a team five games below .500 in conference play could still be considered NCAA Tournament worthy. Of course, the Sooners struggled mightily after New Year’s last season and still made the tournament, as a 10-seed. But that OU team at least went 8-10.
So the question becomes, are other teams under consideration despite woeful conference records?
