Oklahoma basketball’s 2019 season came to an end Sunday night in a 63-51 loss to Virginia.
The No. 1 seeded Cavaliers looked every bit the part of a top seed as they constricted around the Oklahoma basketball offense and held the Sooners to just 36 percent shooting from the floor.
Coming off their highest point total of the season in their first round win over Ole Miss, it was clear from the outset that Virginia was a completely different animal.
The Cavaliers jumped out to a 7-0 lead before Oklahoma’s 13-2 run that gave the Sooners a one-point lead early in the first half – it would be the only time the Sooners held an advantage the whole day.
