The Sooners shot 53 percent in the second half while holding North Texas to just 26 percent over the final 20 minutes on Tuesday night and pulled away for a 73-57 home win over the Mean Green. It was Oklahoma’s sixth win of the season with one loss. It was the first loss of the 2018-19 season for North Texas after opening with eight consecutive victories.
Unlike last season, when the Sooners played a more up-and-down game, attempting to score early and often with All-American Young running the point, this year the OU basketball identity seems to be more deliberate in offensive sets with better discipline on the defensive end.
