Oklahoma basketball: Sooners maintain No. 3 ranking, Hield garners honors

After winning the Diamond Head Classic in Hawaii, Oklahoma's men's basketball team remained at No. 3 in The Associated Press poll and No. 2 in the USA Today coaches' poll.

In the AP poll, the Sooners have 1,498 points, 36 behind No. 2 Kansas. The Jayhawks received the lone first-place vote that went to someone other than No. 1 Michigan State.

Oklahoma (11-0) picked up one more first-place vote from the coaches, finishing with 730 points—41 points behind Michigan State. Kansas received one first-place vote.

The Sooners beat Washington State, Hawaii and Harvard to win the tournament in Hawaii in their final games before beginning Big 12 play Jan.
