ANAHEIM, Calif.—After the first net was cut down Saturday, Lon Kruger watched the Sooners take down the other.
“These guys have no idea how special it's going to be — not even this week but special 10 years from now, 20 years from now,” Kruger said minutes after Oklahoma reached the Final Four with a commanding 80-68 victory over Oregon.
“They're one of the special teams in Oklahoma history."
Kruger's demeanor Saturday during the Elite Eight contest was no different than any other game.
“I've been around him every day since 1986,” assistant coach Steve Henson said.
