Oklahoma basketball made an early exit from the Big 12 Tournament after a last-second Christian James buzz beater was ruled a two-pointer to give West Virginia a 72-71 win.
The Sooners were forced to foul with eight seconds to go in the game trailing by three, but the Mountaineers’ Jermaine Haley missed the first half of a one-and-one, giving Oklahoma basketball one last chance to tie the game up its waning seconds. Christian James gave a head fake to buy himself some room, but in the process moved his non-pivot foot forward an inch too far, putting the tip of his toe on the the line when he went up for the last-second shot.
