With just over seven minutes remaining in the first half, Oklahoma led the Jayhawks 27-24. Kansas coach Bill Self called a quick time out. From that point on, the Jayhawks took control of the game, going on a 17-5 run to take a 41-32 advantage at the half and extending the lead to 20 points early in the second half.
Oklahoma fought back to within 10 points midway through the second half, but that was as close as the Sooners would get as Kansas outshined the Sooners’ Big Three with a red-hot shooting display from three of its own.
