It wasn't quite a Willis Reed moment for Oklahoma when Ryan Spangler first limped back from the locker room and then checked back into the game and controlled the glass down the stretch in the Sooners' 87-83 win over No. 11 Iowa State on Saturday night.
But Spangler's return — less than two minutes after banging knees with the Cyclones' Matt Thomas — gave the Sooners a lift that was bigger even than his statistical contributions and listed the sellout crowd back to life.
“He did what he does today,” Buddy Hield said.
