The 70-66 triumph over the Longhorns evened the season series between the two longtime rivals. More importantly, however, it snapped a seven-game winless drought that saw Oklahoma’s season record deteriorate from 8-9 to 8-16 and place the Sooner men in serious danger of losing as many as19 games, which they have not done since the 1968-69 season.
