NORMAN — Buddy Hield scored 23 points, lifting No. 6 Oklahoma to a 73-71 win over No. 19 Baylor on Tuesday at Lloyd Noble Center.
With a huge lead having slipped away in the second half and Hield mostly quiet, the Sooners still leaned on their star.
With just more than a minute to go, Hield attacked the basket and finished off a layup to extend the lead to three.
Then Hield hit two free throws late to extend the lead again.
But Hield had a chance to ice the game with 5.7 seconds left, going to the line for a one-and-one.
