NORMAN — Big 12 regular-season baseball champion TCU pounded three home runs on Friday night and then held off Oklahoma 11-9 before 1,416 fans at Mitchell Park.
Jeremie Fagnan, Nolan Brown and Derek Odell all homered for the No. 2-ranked Horned Frogs, who trailed early but recovered with seven runs over the middle three innings. TCU added a run in the seventh inning and three more in the eighth to make it 11-7.
OU (32-24 overall, 13-10 Big 12) scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth off reliever Brian Howard, but the Sooners failed to muster more against closer Riley Ferrell, who picked up his 14th save of the season.
