OU (34-22) will open up in Louisville against No. 3 Xavier on Friday afternoon. Also in the Sooners’ regional are host Louisville, the No. 7 overall seed in the NCAA Baseball Championship, and the Radford Highlanders out of the Big South Conference.
The last time the Sooners appeared in the NCAA tournament in baseball, in 2013, they advanced out of regional play the first weekend before losing to LSU in the Super Regional. That was the final season at OU for coach Sunny Galloway.
