Oklahoma baseball: Sooners run wild in 5 more wins last week

Not only are the Sooners pounding out plenty of hits, putting a lot of runners on base and plating boatloads of runs, but the pitching staff has been super stingy allowing much offense from OU’s opponents.

While softball games were cancelled over the weekend because of wintry weather, the Sooner baseball team braved the cold conditions and swept a pair of doubleheaders over the Columbia Lions out of the Ivy League.

Oklahoma scored a combined 36 runs in the four games at L. Dale Mitchell Park, while holding Columbia to just six runs. Earlier in the week, freshman Ben Abram pitched a three-hit, four-strikeout shutout for four innings, as the Sooners went on to an 8-0 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff under similarly bitter conditions.
