The original schedule called for the season-opening series to be played in California, but because of anticipated heavy rain in Northern and Southern California this weekend the decision was made to move the games to Oklahoma.
The Sooners finished the 2016 season with an overall mark of 30-27-1 and a fifth-place standing in the highly competitive Big 12. OU opens up the 2017 season with seven position players who started at least 30 games a year ago, including seniors Austin O’Brien and Jack Flansburg and sophomore outfielder Steele Walker, who was named a Freshman All-American in his debut season in a Sooner uniform.
