The Sooners won two out of three at the Tony Gwynn Legacy Tournament in San Diego over the weekend, defeating San Diego 6-1 and edging San Diego State 1-0 before Sunday’s loss to the Cal State Fullerton Titans.
Oklahoma took an early 3-0 lead with a three-run second inning, but the Titans responded with a two runs in the third and one in the fourth to knot the score and exploded for four runs in the fifth to jump out ahead 7-3.
Sooner first basemen Ty Hardman stroked a three-run home run in the fifth inning to pull OU to within one, but CSF added another run in the sixth and held the Sooners scoreless over the final four innings for the victory.
