Oklahoma baseball: Sooners hammer Horns for series win over Red River rival

The Sooners hammered the Longhorns 13-0 in game one of Friday’s doubleheader, giving OU its third series win in the last three trips to Austin and its first back-to-back win in a series at Texas since 1997, according to the OU athletic department.

Oklahoma banged out 15 hits and three home runs, all of the multiple run variety, off of five Texas pitchers in the first game of the twin bill, powering the Sooners to their largest margin of victory ever over their Red River rivals in baseball.

The Longhorns rebounded in the nightcap, claiming a 6-4 victory to avoid a series sweep.
