Oklahoma baseball: Sooners’ gallant comeback falls short in Bedlam

Oklahoma State (16-7) jumped on OU starter Ben Abram for five runs in the second inning to put the Sooners in an early hole in a nonconference matchup with in-state rival Oklahoma in Stillwater on Tuesday . The big hit in the inning was a three-run fence-clearing blast by right fielder Carson McCusker.

OU cut into the Cowboy lead with a two-run homer by second baseman Conor McKenna in the fourth inning, and scored three more times in the eighth to tie the game heading to the final inning.

OSU put two runners on base in the home half of the ninth on a one-out single and a walk.
