Needing a series sweep of TCU to win the Big 12 regular-season baseball title and keep alive hopes of an at-large berth in a regional, Oklahoma let chance after chance slip away Thursday night and fell 5-4 to the Horned Frogs in front of 1,113 at L. Dale Mitchell Park.
“It’s a crucial series for us as far as postseason ramifications, as far as Big 12 regular-season standings,” Sooners coach Pete Hughes said. “So guys, they’re emotionally invested. When you play good and have opportunities to win and you don’t, it hurts.
