NORMAN—The Skip Johnson era at Oklahoma officially begins Feb. 16 in South Carolina when the Sooners open the season against Indiana at the "Bash on the Beach" hosted by Coastal Carolina.
Johnson, who served as OU's pitching coach last year before being hired for the job following the departure of Pete Hughes, makes his home debut as head coach Feb. 21 against Abilene Christian.
Oklahoma's schedule features 13 teams that made the NCAA Tournament last year.
"I think it's good to be on the road early and face a couple teams with Omaha experience," Johnson said of the season-opening event in a release.
