With only eight teams qualifying for the Big 12 baseball tournament at the end of the month, Oklahoma's series against Kansas State has huge implications. After a Friday night loss to the Wildcats the Sooners were in danger of slipping down the standings but after an 11-1 thumping of Kansas State on Saturday OU is guaranteed to at least exit the weekend in sixth place.
Jack Flansburg, Sheldon Neuse, and Cody Thomas each recorded two hits and eight Sooner batters recorded at least one RBI as Oklahoma's offense came to life in Norman Saturday afternoon. OU never trailed in the game after scoring single runs in the first two frames and then posting a two-spot in the third.
