Oklahoma athletic director Joe Castiglione named to Missouri Sports Hall of Fame

NORMAN — University of Oklahoma athletic director Joe Castiglione is one of 15 selected for enshrinement in the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame this year.

Castiglione and the others will be enshrined Nov. 15 in Columbia, Mo.

He has been OU’s athletic director since 1998 and is the second-longest serving athletic director in school history. Before that, he spent 17 years in the Missouri athletic department, first as director of marketing and communications before serving as athletic director for five years.

A Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native, Castiglione graduated from the University of Maryland in 1979, receiving the school’s Distinguished Alumnus Award in April 2007.
