The Ohio State Buckeyes were ranked number one in the AP poll for the eight straight week dating back to the end of the 2014 season. On Sunday, the team made a bit of history that dates back to 2011.
According to College Football Talk, the defending national champions now hold the record for the most weeks atop the AP polls. They tied the Oklahoma Sooners with 101 weeks last Sunday and this week the broke it with their 102nd week at the top of the list.
The Sooners have not been the number one team in the country since 2011 and after their loss to Texas on Saturday, it’s unlikely they will tie the Buckeyes again this year.
