Oakland A's executive Billy Beane talks Kyler Murray as spring training begins

Though he likely lost a future outfielder, Billy Beane at least kept his sense of humor during the Kyler Murray saga.

The Oakland Athletics vice president of baseball operations was peppered with questions about Murray as MLB spring training opens this week. Beane, with a few laugh-inducing responses Monday morning, likely knew the news that would soon drop.

That Murray himself would answer the baseball-football debate with a tweet at 11:46 a.m.

Football it is.

Beane was asked by ESPN's Pedro Gomez, just before Murray's announcement, if the A's would have handled the draft differently knowing what they know now — that Murray would win the Heisman Trophy and be a projected first-round NFL draft pick.
