Oklahoma will name its new athletics performance addition to the Lloyd Noble center after former player Blake Griffin, who pledged to OU the largest financial gift ever by a former basketball player last year to build the structure. The naming was approved by the OU Board of Regents at its Thursday meeting in Oklahoma City.
The approximately 18,400-gross-square-foot training center, which will take a year to complete, will be built south of the men's and women's practice gyms on the south side of the Lloyd Noble Center. It will house strength training facilities for a variety of athletics programs and is expected to cost about $7 million.
