New Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley will continue to call offensive plays

New Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley will continue to call offensive plays, he said at his introductory press conference Wednesday evening.

Riley was named the Sooners' 22nd head coach Wednesday after former coach Bob Stoops unexpectedly announced his retirement. Riley was hired by Stoops two years ago as offensive coordinator.

Riley, who has called plays both of his years in Norman, engineered a massive offensive turnaround that saw the Sooners rank No. 4 in scoring and No. 7 in total yards during his first season with the program. He coached QB Baker Mayfield and WR Dede Westbrook to Heisman Trophy finalist honors in 2016, as well.
