Nebraska football is becoming a distant memory to us in the Southwest. It’s been 8-1/2 years since the Cornhuskers shared a football field with either the Sooners or the Cowboys. The Year of our Lord 2010.
Or heck, any Big 12 or former Big 12 opponent, other than Colorado, which skipped town, too, after that 2010 season. NU and CU played last September in Lincoln. Didn’t seem like old times.
But for many of us, it’s not natural to ignore Nebraska. Not natural to think of Nebraska as some kind of Big Ten also-ran in the vein of Northwestern or Purdue.
