LEXINGTON, Ky. - Oklahoma coach Sherri Coale predicted Purdue's backcourt would canceled out the Sooners' guards, and believed the Sooners had a post advantage.
She could not have been more right.
Oklahoma used 13 blocks from a stifling defense to pummel Purdue, 61-45, in the first round of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament here Saturday.
"As we have talked to our team all the time, it is an advantage only if we exploit their weakness," Coale said. "I think our belief in our bigs is really true and really strong, and we played toward them today.
