Chris Crutchfield remembers the first time he saw Buddy Hield.
Only 14 years old at the time, Hield looked a whole lot different than he does today. He shot the ball from his hip. He cocked out his elbow.
“But it went in,” Crutchfield said.
Well, that looked like it does today.
But Crutchfield and the rest of Oklahoma's coaches knew even when they were recruiting Hield that his shot would have to be fixed. The same went for Isaiah Cousins, Ryan Spangler and Jordan Woodard.
As the Sooners open play in the NCAA Tournament, they stand as a strong Final Four contender because of their 3-point shooting.
