Oklahoma reserve center Akolda Manyang missed Saturday's practice after learning about a death in his family.
“Just devastating news,” OU coach Lon Kruger said. “He's shaken up pretty badly about it. … He's lost parents before, a long time ago.”
Manyang found out about the death hours after having a breakout game in Oklahoma's first-round win over Cal State Bakersfield. Kruger told Manyang it was his decision whether or not to practice Saturday or play Sunday against VCU (4:15 p.m., CBS).
“No idea,” Kruger said when asked if Manyang would play. “I told him, ‘Whatever you need to deal with this, we're fine.
