Kyler Murray has been gaining ground in the Heisman Trophy race on Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa for the last few weeks, but his performance Saturday against Texas may have been enough to get him over the hump.
Murray finished 25-of-34 for 379 yards and three touchdowns against the Longhorns, leading the Sooners to their fourth straight Big 12 Championship.
Meanwhile, Tagovailoa and the Crimson Tide are struggling in the SEC title game vs Georgia. The hero in last year's national title game vs the Bulldogs, Tagovailoa has thrown two interceptions on Saturday night. He's also been inefficient, completing 10 of 25 passes and throwing just one touchdown.
