Unlike a year ago, Kyler Murray isn't playing in a summer baseball league.
Even so, he donned a green baseball uniform Friday afternoon and took a couple of swings on the diamond at the Oakland Coliseum.
A college football season still separates Murray from beginning his professional baseball career, but he got a taste of the big leagues Friday when he was officially introduced as a member of the Oakland Athletics organization.
“It's a little surreal, obviously,” Murray said, sitting at a the dais between A's general manager Billy Beane and Murray's representative Scott Boras. “Growing up as a kid, I was dreaming of playing a professional sport, whichever one it was.
