NORMAN — Oklahoma left-handed pitcher Levi Prater was drafted in the third round of the MLB Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday.
Prater, a Byng High School product, was taken with the No. 93 overall pick, which has a bonus slot of $627,900.
The Sooners’ Saturday starter, Prater was 1-0 with a 3.42 ERA in four starts during the spring’s shortened season. He struck out 33 batters and allowed just nine runs in 23 2/3 innings.
In 2018, he appeared in 16 games, making 14 starts. He was 7-4 with three shutouts. He also lead the team with a 3.
