The Miami Marlins selected Oklahoma baseball signee Daxton Fulton in the second round of the MLB Draft on Thursday.
Fulton, the 6-foot-6, 220 pound left-handed pitcher from Mustang High School, was selected No. 40 overall.
First year Mustang coach Joe Patterson said he figured the 2019 Perfect Game All-American would be drafted early.
“Being 6’6 and left handed, he’s got a chance,” Patterson said. “Especially with a fastball that rises up to 95 mph. He’s got a gift that can’t be taught.”
Fulton was a projected first round pick before enduring Tommy John surgery last year.
