McDonald’s all-American Trae Young announced Thursday he would sign to play basketball at OU. The news was greeted with great revelry, as it should be. Not every day does one of the top 24 high school players in America sign on to play college hoops in Oklahoma. They go to Kentucky, Duke, Kansas and North Carolina, often multiple per school per year.
That doesn’t leave a ton of available inventory for the middle class. But would it surprise you to know that 15 McDonald’s all-Americans have ended up at either OU or OSU since 1981, the year before Wayman Tisdale arrived in Norman and ignited a new era?
