NORMAN, Okla. - Former walk-on quarterback Baker Mayfield had the best offensive performance in school history Saturday.
The Oklahoma sophomore threw for 487 yards and ran for another 85 in Oklahoma's 52-38 win over Tulsa at OU's Memorial Stadium.
Mayfield's 572 yards set the single-game mark at Oklahoma for total yards. Mayfield, a transfer from Texas Tech, was 32-of-38 passing. He had 13 carries for 85 yards and accounted for six total touchdowns.
Mayfield is the first player since 2000 with at least three passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown in each of the first three games of the season.
