By now you know Baker Mayfield is the starting quarterback at Oklahoma.

You probably heard via social media, maybe the internet, or perhaps a friend told you.

But you know how Baker Mayfield found out?

According to John Shinn of The Norman Transcript, Mayfield found out he was the starter from none of the sources above or from anyone on the coaching staff.

Mayfield found out from Cody Thomas, one of the three Oklahoma quarterbacks involved in the starting quarterback race.
