NORMAN -- Matt McMillen came to OU almost 20 years ago, expecting to stay a few years and move on. That’s actually a long tenure for the job McMillen held, administrative assistant to the head football coach.

But five years became 10 and 10 became 15, and McMillen joins assistant coach Cale Gundy and head trainer Scott Anderson as the only holdovers from the original Bob Stoops staff in 1999. But that changes at the end of June.

McMillen, 55, is retiring from the university. Since 2011, he’s been assistant athletic director for football operations.

“It’s been a great ride,” said McMillen.
