NORMAN — Backpedaling to a spot just beyond the 3-point arc on the wing, Maddie Manning caught a pass from senior Gabbi Ortiz in rhythm.
In one fluid motion, she rose up and fired.
As the ball swished through the net, Manning unleashed a vigourous fist pump and the Sooners breathed a collective sigh of relief as their lead increased to 17 with three minutes to play.
“That was a big 3,” said Manning, who finished with 16 points in the final home game of her career. “Got us going a little bit. Got our defense going more than anything I think.
