The message from the second week of the College Football Playoff rankings was encouraging for the Big 12 -- if the conference's two contenders don't cannibalize themselves.
Oklahoma rose one spot to No. 6 in the CFP rankings Tuesday after surviving a Saturday night in Lubbock. And West Virginia, which made a national impression with the two-point conversion to beat Texas, rose four spots to No. 9.
So how much did the CFP selection committee like what the Mountaineers did?
"Impressive road win versus a ranked Texas team," said selection committee chairman Rob Mullens, the athletic director at Oregon.
