Florida Atlantic coach Lane Kiffin met with media members on Thursday for Conference USA media day and it didn't take long for the topic of Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray to come up.
Murray, an Allen High school product and the odds-on favorite to replace reigning Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield at Oklahoma, was selected 9th overall in June's MLB draft. He will play one more season of football this fall and then shift his focus to baseball after signing a contract with the Oakland Athletics this offseason.
Kiffin, who coaches Florida Atlantic -- Oklahoma's Week 1 opponent, thinks Murray shouldn't wait to make the switch to full-time baseball and should do so now.
