Kyler Murray's scrambles help fill OU's rushing void in wake of Rodney Anderson's injury

AMES, Iowa — With the game tied about five minutes into the second quarter Saturday at Iowa State, Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray surveyed things from the pocket.

The Cyclones, as they did for much of Oklahoma's 37-27 win, rushed just three defenders.

The other eight dropped back into coverage, the scheme that gave the Sooners so many problems a year ago in Iowa State's upset win in Norman.

Not finding an open receiver, Murray took off running. Nine yards down the field, Murray dropped into a slide as defenders finally converged, but the damage had been done.
