The redshirt junior, who took over the starting role at quarterback this season from the departed Baker Mayfield, the best quarterback in college football last season, accounted for five of Oklahoma’s seven touchdowns in the win over UCLA. Murray completed 19 of 33 passes for 306 yards, the first 300-yard passing performance in his career. He also motored for a team-high 69 yards on the ground.
Murray threw for three touchdowns and rushed for two more, making him the third Sooner quarterback in the last 18 seasons to accomplish that feat.
In the Sooners’ first two games this season, Murray has completed 63.
