Kyle Tyler pitches Sooners past Jayhawks 4-2 in Big 12 tournament elimination game

With their pitching staff worn thin, Oklahoma desperately needed a solid performance from starter Kyle Tyler on Friday.

They got it.

Tyler threw six innings, allowing just two runs and three hits to help keep the Sooners alive in the Big 12 Tournament with a 4-2 win over Kansas at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The Sooners (36-22) will face Baylor at 9 a.m. Saturday. The Bears need one win in two games to advance to Sunday's championship game while Oklahoma would need to beat Baylor twice to advance.

Without their top two offensive weapons — Steele Walker and Kyler Murray — once again, the Sooners put three runs up in the first inning to give Tyler plenty of cushion.
