In late October, Texas Tech football was 5-2 and rolling. Then came three straight, high-scoring, competitive losses – 40-31 at Iowa State, 51-46 to Oklahoma and 41-34 to Texas.
Then Saturday, the Red Raiders collapsed offensively and lost 21-6 at Kansas State. Now Tech plays Baylor on Saturday in Arlington in a battle of 5-6 teams seeking bowl eligibility. And it appears Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury is a coach who is back on the hot seat.
“That was an outlier game for us,” Kingsbury said of the K-State game. “Offensively, we were inept. That was an anomaly, really, how we’ve played this year.
