Jackie Stiles hired as new Oklahoma women's basketball assistant

Oklahoma women's basketball coach Sherri Coale has filled the final spot on her coaching staff, hiring Jackie Stiles as an assistant coach.

Stiles has spent the last six seasons as an assistant at her alma mater, Missouri State.

As a player at the school, then known as Southwest Missouri State, Stiles became the first player ever to top 1,000 points in one season and set the career scoring record with 3,393 points.

Washington's Kelsey Plum broke Stiles' record in 2017.

Stiles was diagnosed with ocular melanoma, a rare form of eye cancer, more than a year ago, before returning to the bench later that season.
