NORMAN — In the fall of 2014, Kristian Doolittle was weighing his options with college basketball offers.
Talking with his dad, Dwayne, Doolittle said he was leaning toward Oklahoma. Dwayne told him to take 30 days and think about it.
Doolittle didn’t wait that long.
Fourteen days later, Dwayne received a call from OU coach Lon Kruger saying he heard Kristian would be announcing his commitment the next day.
“I said, ‘Really?’” Dwayne said. “I said, ‘Where's he going?’”
The Edmond Memorial product had decided to commit to OU but wanted to keep it a surprise, even to his family.
