FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Oklahoma is using more than last year's 40-6 loss to Clemson in the Russell Athletic Bowl as motivation for its rematch against the Tigers in the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl.
The Sooners say they've been watching the ESPN broadcast of the game and using the commentators' remarks for motivation, as well.
"There's a lot in that broadcast where they take shots at us," quarterback Baker Mayfield said of ESPN commentators Mike Patrick and Ed Cunningham. "We take that as disrespect.
